Manually add a new media server

Media server hostname : vtl1.nbu.test

Master server hostname : netbackup.nbu.test

Under the following directory:

NetBackup_Install_Pathbinadmincmd

Use the following command:

nbemmcmd -addhost -machinename vtl1.nbu.test -machinetype media -masterserver netbackup.nbu.test -operatingsystem linux -netbackupversion 6.5.3

   i was curious… if the media is attached directly to the master server… do you still need to install the media server component? i basically only have one server to run netbackup on….

   If you’re talking about installing media server on to the master server itself, there’s no need for that, because media server is also installed while the installation of the master server…
