If you have facing a status code 24 error when trying to backup: If your client is AIX, check on the client that, the client can resolve “the ip address from hostname” and “the hostname from ip address” of the Netbackup Master server respectively.

Download and untar NetBackup_6.5_UnixOptions.tar.gz file from fileconnect.symantec.com if not already.
